Hey there! I'm very excited to share my love for the British monarchy with you all. It's been a passion of mine for over twenty years. My autism, which I was diagnosed with at seven, adds an extra layer to my fascination. I've got a degree in Creative Writing from the University of Greenwich. I love deep diving into research to spark fun and insightful conversations.
Want to know what's even more impressive? The Plantagenets are distant (very distant) relatives! This makes this aspect of history feel even more personal! I'm also eager to dive into the world of their successors, the Tudors and the Stuarts. This journey is about reaching out and sharing my enthusiasm with more people. The idea for this site began to take shape over 3 years ago when my local job centre decided to label me as unable to work due to my difficulties with stress. At first, it felt incredibly disheartening, and my mental health was at its lowest. We're often raised to believe that getting a job is a natural part of growing up, so being told I couldn't take that step, left me feeling like I had let myself, my mum and society down.
But instead of letting this defeat me, I chose to look for a new path. I realised that if I couldn't contribute to society in the traditional sense, perhaps I could create something that contributes back to the community in another way (the unofficial family motto is: "there's always another way".) I started to reflect on my interests and passions. My fascination with the history of the British monarchy and my dedication to improving autism awareness, acceptance and inclusion, sparked a light of inspiration in me.
That's when Monarch Moments was born! I'm excited to share this journey and bring hope and understanding to others, showing that there are always alternative ways to making a difference.

I'll be sharing snappy bios of these iconic figures, alongside deeper looks into their most sensational moments.
What captivates me about these monarchs is their intriguing and often tragic legacies. Their morally ambiguous choices make them relatable and far more human than you might think!

Growing up in the 1990s was quite a rollercoaster! With limited awareness and understanding of autism, it often felt tough to navigate a world where fitting into the mould of the able-bodied, able-minded, heterosexual, WASP-ish norm was the goal. I remember times in school when I was seen as an annoyance or a troublemaker simply due to my differences. I felt somehow inferior to my peers. But rather than let those experiences hold me back, they fuelled my passion to change the narrative for others with autism and raise awareness in society. That's exactly why I started this blog!
